China's Long March 5 Remote 6 Launch Vehicle Launches Satellite, Wenchang, Hainan On December 15, the Long March 5 rocket successfully placed the Remote Sensing 41 satellite into its intended orbit, marking the first launch of this type of rocket since the 2020 Chang'e 5 mission. The launch rocket for the first time used a lengthened version of the 18.5-meter fairing, which can accommodate a larger payload, and the height of the entire rocket reached 63.2 meters, which is also China's highest active launch vehicle. China has already completed 61 space launches in 2023, accounting for more than 30 percent of all global launches.
