SpaceX Starship Prototype and Super Heavy Booster Combination 2nd Test Flight Launch, Texas, U.S.A. On November 18th, the Starship prototype and the Super Heavy Booster separated after 2 minutes and 41 seconds of liftoff, with the booster exploding out of control a few minutes later, and the Starship initiating self-destruct due to a loss of connectivity, a process that lasted about 8 minutes. The first and second stages of the test flight successfully achieved thermal separation, and the Starship reached a maximum altitude of 148 kilometers, with the mission basically achieving the desired objectives.
